Granddad & Grandmother Depart

We wished granddad and grandmother farewell today as they returned to Georgia. Granddad actually changed my diaper more than once. :-)

Happy Father's Day

Watson,

Three weeks ago you joined our family and made us your mommy and daddy, and today we celebrate your daddy on his first father's day. Your daddy is a wonderful, Godly man, and he is so happy that you are his son. When you look at these pictures, remember that your daddy loves you more than words can express, and he will always be there for you.

Welcome to our family little one. I love you and your daddy more than all the stars in the sky!

Love,
Mommy

Three Generations of Grantham Men

Watson's Introduction to Restaurants

Watson was introduced to his Grantham grandparents this week who are visiting from Georgia. On the way home from the airport, we decided to stop and get a hamburger at Otto's. He loved it! Really he was sleeping, but I am sure the aroma will be indentured in his mind for later use. :-)

I love to sleep

Whenever I (David) visited my grandparents house, the first thing I saw when I walked into the den was a pair of La-Z-Boy recliners. On many occasions, I would visit and find grandpa in the left recliner and grandma in the right, usually asleep with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, or one of the Cartwright's gracing the TV screen.

Needless to say, my father also had a recliner. Growing up in Georgia, almost daily you could find dad relaxed in the recliner (eventually asleep), with a bowl of Breyers ice cream in his hand watching the Braves on TBS.

It is this history that I wish to pass along to Watson and his many siblings to come. Here is evidence of the future.

14 Days Old

Watson visited the doctor again today. He weighed in at 7 lb 10 oz and has stretched to 21 inches long. We decided to take a few pictures of him tonight after we gave him a bath. He gave us a few funny faces as he practiced his cattle call.
